James Bond 25 Watch On A Budget

A a huge James Bond fan, I can't wait for the final movie to feature Daniel Craig as James Bond that comes out in 2020. Once again James Bond will be wearing a custom version of Omega Seamaster.  At a price of several thousand Euros for a standard Seammaster 300M and somewhere around €10,000 for the very limited edition Bond 25 version, I thought it would be fun to see how close in design aspect you could get on a more affordable budget.

My criteria for Bond 25 watch on a budget:

• Must have automatic movement that could last lifetime and more. (just like Omega)
• Watch brand with a reputable history in horology.  (just like Omega)
• A watch with it's own uniqueness and not simply a copy of Omega 300M.
• Must have gold colour element to watch face or bezel to give hints to the special edition Omega spotted on Daniel Craig's wrist during filming of Bond 25 in Jamaica.
• Must have a stainless steel case and black dial (like Omega).
• As this is Bond on a budget, the watch should be priced under €300 - no surprise that all the watches recommended are Seiko movements. No other brand comes close in this price range for high quality automatic movements that can last a lifetime and beyond.

This is my first choice as it closely matches the vintage aesthetics of the special edition Omega Seamaster 300M that 007 will be wearing in Bond 25.  It's no coincidence that the Gigandet part number for this watch is  G2-007 !

*I predict this watch will become very sought after and prices may rise when Bond 25 hits the cinemas in 2020. It has a Seiko NH35 automatic movement known for exceptional build quality and robustness.
