We've all been there, peacefully driving along minding our own business when another vehicle and driver does something that we don't like. You feel the immediate sense of rage and anger, your heart starts beating faster, your primitive emotions take effect - you feel that you need to tell them or give your 'what for'. In the above case and video, this would have soon been over, eventually if the bike riders had just pulled back and ignored the pick up driver and it's aggressive passenger, it would have all ended harmlessly with nothing more than a few bruised egos.
The rider should have never approached the window and tapped on the glass, the situation just needed awareness to the rapidly changing threat level. Anything beyond that only needed the police to be called while everything else was being filmed. The driver of the pickup truck was being provoked by his passenger in the front seat to draw his gun, this was very serious as now you have road rage anger as well as mucho ego in play. Note his finger was clearly on the trigger, it only needed an accidentally pull for this to have ended with possible death and multiple lives changed forever. All because the rider felt he needed to give his 'what for'.
IF SUCH AN INSTANCE HAPPENS TO YOU - STOP. Breath deeply, think about what just happened and stay calm. Most likely in a matter of minutes the other vehicle and driver will soon be out of your view and out of your life. Does what just happened really justify you escalating the situation with possible life changing consequences? Unless the situation is at a point with an imminent threat to your life, taking action to escalate a minor annoying gesture or driving error will never be worth it. Your ego will recover, and your family will be happier to see you return home safely that to hear from you calling from jail, or hospital.
